The first design in this new series, known as the Charters of Freedom, fittingly pays tribute to America’s Declaration of Independence, signed 250 years ago in 1776. Each 2026-W 1 oz Proof American Platinum Eagle coin comes individually packaged by the United States Mint. The coin is protected within a plastic capsule and housed in a presentation box. The box is held within a themed outer shipper and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the mint. This new design is the first in the Charters of Freedom mini-series.

The Declaration of Independence, adopted on July 4, 1776, stands as one of history’s most influential political documents, formally announcing the thirteen American colonies’ separation from British rule.
