During the height of the British Empire from the 18th to early 20th centuries, Britannia evolved from a classical allegorical figure into a powerful symbol of imperial dominance and global reach. She embodied Britain’s “Rule Britannia” mentality, representing not just the home islands but the vast network of colonies and naval supremacy that defined British identity.
All 2026 1 oz British Platinum Britannia Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins come with individual protective flips, plastic tubes of 5 to 10 coins, or in boxes of 100 coins. The typical box features 10 tubes of 10 coins. All coins have four enhanced security elements on the reverse, including a latent security mark, tincture lines on the Union Jack, micro-text engraving around Britannia, and motion texture waves in the background.
On the obverse of 2026 British Platinum Britannias, you will find the first-generation portrait of King Charles III. Designed for The Royal Mint in 2022, the left-profile relief shows His Majesty without a crown. Martin Jennings is the designer of this first-generation effigy of Charles III.
The reverse of 2026 1 oz Platinum Britannia Coins comes with an image of Britannia. This modern emblem shows Britannia’s full-length figure with a trident in her right hand, a Union Jack shield beneath her left hand as it clutches an olive branch, and a Corinthian helmet on her head.
