The obverse of the 2026 1 Gram Gold Noah’s Ark Coin displays the national coat of arms of Armenia. This design was officially adopted on April 19, 1992, and shows an eagle and a lion supporting a shield. Both animals are longstanding symbols connected to the earliest Armenian kingdoms that existed before Christ. The shield is divided into four quadrants featuring heraldic figures, with a smaller depiction of Noah’s Ark at the center positioned on Mount Ararat.

On the reverse of the 2026 Armenian Gold Noah’s Ark Coin, Noah’s Ark is shown at the center of the design. A white dove holding an olive branch approaches the ark, symbolizing peace following the flood. Mount Ararat appears in the background beneath the sun, representing the site where the ark came to rest according to scripture. Surrounding the imagery is the inscription “Noah’s Ark” in both Armenian and English. The design elements collectively highlight the biblical narrative and its importance within Armenia’s national tradition.

Noah and his family entered the Ark, every land animal went with them two by two, and then the flood began — the fountains of the deep broke open, rain poured for forty days and forty nights, and the waters rose until every high hill on earth was covered. The waters flooded the earth for one hundred and fifty days before God remembered Noah and the animals on the Ark, and the waters began to recede. The Ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat, and after sending out a raven and then a dove, Noah saw the dove return with a freshly plucked olive leaf, signaling that dry ground was emerging.
