The Somalia Silver Elephant Series has been available from the Bavarian State Mint since 1999. Originally, the collection was known as the Zambia Silver Elephant through 2003. As of 2004, its popularity and diversity have grown immensely. Today, 2023 2 oz Somalia Silver Elephant Coins are available to you online.

Following the switch to Somalia in 2004, the series remained largely unchanged, with the exception of its ever-changing reverse designs. In 2016, the purity of the coins was enhanced to .9999 fineness. The next year, new silver weights started debuting for investors, including these 2 oz silver coins.

On the obverse of 2023 Somalia Silver Elephant Coins, you will find a depiction of the national coat of arms of Somalia. This design shows a crowned shield that is supported on the sides by leopards with a single star at the center set against a field of horizontal lines.

The reverse side of the 2023 2 oz Silver Elephant comes with an image of the African bush elephant. The world’s largest living land mammal, the bush elephant is shown here in right-profile relief using its trunk to strip leaves from an overhead tree branch.
