Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the $20 Double Eagle, the image captures the front-facing relief of Liberty walking toward the viewer with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.
For the reverse of 2014-W Proof American Gold Eagles, the design field includes the original design from Miley Busiek. This image shows a male eagle flying over the family nest as a female eagle guards the hatchlings within.
