Tigers are still an important creature in the history of South Korea, as evidenced by this 2023 1 oz South Korean Tiger Silver Medal. Order the 6th design of this series now.

The obverse of this 2023 South Korean Tiger Silver Medal features a tiger cub. All medals in this series display a unique image of a tiger, the 2023 version showcases a tiger cub in the foreground while the Homigot Lighthouse is seen in the background. Homigot is a point of land in South Korea that leads out to the Sea of Japan. Also shown on the obverse is the right hand of coexistence emerging from the water.
The reverse field of the 2023 1 oz South Korean Tiger Medal showcases the Korean Peninsula. This stylized depiction showcases the peninsula made from letters of the Korean alphabet. To the left of the peninsula, we see a Taegeuk, while on the right there is a security device. Tiger stripes and identifying marks of the medal surround the image.
Each 2023 1 oz South Korean Tiger Silver Medal is made available in a variety of purchasing options. For individual orders, these silver medals will arrive in flips. For orders of 25, these medals will arrive in tubes. We also offer boxes containing 10 tubes. These medals are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
The design of both fields goes hand in hand as Homigot means “tiger’s tail cape.” The shape of the Korean peninsula is often compared to a tiger and since Homigot is located on a cape, it represents the tail of the tiger. The Homigot Lighthouse is the tallest in South Korea. Homigot is also home to the Hand of Coexistence, a two-handed sculpture with one hand emerging from the water and the other being located at Sunrise Plaza.
