Graduation ceremonies mark educational milestones with cap-and-gown processions, diploma presentations, and the iconic tossing of mortarboards into the air. Families often travel considerable distances to attend, bringing flowers and congratulatory signs, followed by parties featuring themed decorations in school colors, photo displays chronicling the graduate’s journey, and celebratory meals. Gifts of money, luggage for college-bound students, or professional attire for those entering the workforce accompany well-wishes
Featured on the obverse of 2026 American Silver Eagles is Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty. Introduced on the half dollar in 1916, the design shows Liberty walking toward the horizon in left-profile relief. She is draped in the American flag, reaching forward with her right arm while holding oak and laurel branches in her left.
The reverse of the 2026 1 oz Silver Eagle Coin displays Emily Damstra’s bald eagle design. Created in 2020 and released in mid-2021, the eagle is shown descending in flight with wings raised as it carries an oak branch in its talons.
